So, I built AutoMic.
It starts recording the second you pick up your instrument. And stops when you put it down.
If you do something cool, just double tap the mic and keep playing. No red light, no distractions. Just you and the music.
AutoMic is designed to be used with a smartphone.
When you play, audio is automatically streamed to your phone.
When you double-tap the mic's body, a clip of your playing will be stored permanently in the app.
You can export clips for use elsewhere directly from the app.
When it can't communicate with your phone, AutoMic will store the latest five-minute clip in onboard memory until connectivity is restored.
AutoMic is not a typical open-air microphone. It's a contact mic, reading audio waves directly from the surface it's attached to.
This means it won't pick up environmental noise.
This also means it records the body, timbre, and sound of your unique instrument exceptionally well.
